ID Card Information (see explanations below):
Other Comments:
The card works by using an encoded number in
the magnetic strip on the back of the card.
An ID card may not work for one of several
reasons.

A. I am requesting to be added to door lock.

B. I was told I was able to use this lock, or
I had recently been able to use this lock and
now I can't.

C. If you have lost and replaced your card
recently then the number in the lock will
NOT match the new encoded number on your
card and therefore the lock may need to be
updated.

D. Your card may become demagnetized and
therefore unreadable by the lock. If this
is the case you can take your card to
security and they will remagnetize the card.
[Note: that the use of your card at the dorm
is using a radio sensor in the card so it
may work at the dorm but not in the slide-in
magnetic reader.]

E. The battery in the lock may fail. Usually
the lock will "beep" when a card is used and
the battery is close to failing. If you use
your card and there is no "beep" and no
flashing light of either color then the
battery is probably dead. Please report a
"beeping" or dead battery condition so that
it can be replaced.
